Pastor Robert T. Wilson was born in Oxford, North Carolina. He spent most of his childhood years growing up in the west end of Richmond, Virginia. He was baptized at the age of 8 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Lawrence Taylor. During these early years, Robert was appointed Superintendent of Sunday School, Jr. Deacon, and also sang in the various choirs. Robert was always willing to do what ever was necessary for the kingdom of God. He is a graduate of Maggie L. Walker High School. Pastor Rob furthered his education at Shaw University and Virginia Union University, during which time he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served his country for 18 months and by way of divine intervention, God orchestrated an early out for him. Upon his return, he continued his service to the Lord. In November of 2003, he united in marriage to Sherry C. Johnson and together they share five children, Kim, Danielle, Robert, Jr., Michael and Casey. They also have six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Evidence of God's call on his life came early as he preached his first sermon at the age of 15 at Mt. Vernon Baptist church. It would be many years later before Robert would indeed say "Yes" to that which was declared before his birth. He is often heard saying "What God has for me, is for me". In 1999, Pastor Rob begin to serve the congregation of St. James Baptist Church of Goochland, Virginia. In October, 2000, Robert received his license from Rev. Thomas Blake and was later ordained in February of 2009. His continuous service to St. James Baptist included Associate Minister, Youth Minister, Sunday School Superintendant, Teacher, and Psalmist. In 2006, Pastor Rob graduated from the Virginia Union University Evans Smith Program with certificates in Religious Studies, Proclamation Preparation, Pastoral Care and Christian Education. In October of 2009, Pastor Rob was installed as the Pastor of For His Glory Worship Center in Mechanicsville, Virginia. One of his favorite verses can be found in Psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want". In October 2012 Pastor Rob completed all studies to gain the diploma of Study in the Office of Pastor from Reach for the World Ministries, School of the Fivefold Ministry Training Center.
